Enhancement Gear Priorities

My brother has been leveling his shammy off and on for quite awhile now but he is a very casual player that is just starting to take it all seriously. He is stuck on enhancement and just loves smashin face etc.

He asked me the other day what he should be looking for stat wise and why he needs some of those stats etc and to be honest, I didn't really know what to tell em. Its one of the only class specs I never really researched.

Any ideas from you gentlemen asto what I should recommend to em?
