So what exactly is the point of the game btw? It looks slightly amusing. It's like an RPGLite thing.

Kinda. It's like a sandbox, freeform adventure game built around collecting and combining different types of blocks. It sound weird, but it's addictive like Legos. Very, very fun game.
Apparently it's caught on at a couple game studios (all of Bethesda and Valve are playing it), and Valve actually brought the developer to Valve to speak and to talk to him about his game.

Hi, I'm all up in your forums stalking.

This game is easily worth the price unless you are backed up on games to play. It looks extremely simple and basic, but its addicting as anything. Basically you find a place to make a home for yourself, and start digging underground to gather materials in order to craft better stuff. It has a strange element of fear to it because you can constantly hear shit while you are digging, but you never know just how close it actually is to you.

If you are intrigued by it at all but not quite sure if you want it, I suggest watching "X's Lets play Minecraft" videos on youtube.

There is also a partially completed multiplayer that is still being developed, along with much more. The game is basically still in its infant stage.
