Greetings Kyth and Jarlyn,

I just wondered if I can get your thoughts on enchants for feet and chest

Feet: Tuskarr's Vs Icewalker Vs Spirit:

I have had Tuskarr's for most progress in Uld 25 HM but find it less useful now in ToC 25 HM. Once you've done a fight enough times - I find that movement becomes second nature and you almost pre-empt where to stand, so Tuskarr's doesn't offer as much of an upgrade as EJ forums would have you believe. And if hit capped - won't spirit on boots be a crit increase over icewalker (assuming scaling with kings and 2/3 SOTM)

Chest: Powerful stats Vs Spirit:

I understand that spirit is a very small crit and DPS increase - and wondered whether you felt the 10 less stam is worth it for HM like twins and Anub

Thanks for the advice

Personally I've never seen the need for Tuskarr's. I've yet to encounter a situation in which Blink wasn't enough movement that I felt handicapped by lack of runspeed. So for mages, no, I don't think Tuskarr's is a necessity.

Icewalker v Spirit is a personal call. I stick with Icewalker just because it's simpler to have when managing multiple specs all with different hit needs, and Spirit is an extremely small dps gain, but if you're comfortable with where your hit is at, sure, go for it.

For Chest enchants, no, I don't think ~100hp is going to make or break anything. I went with Spirit for my current chest, but the differences there are again going to be smaller than you'll ever notice in a raid.

I have engineering, but before then tended to keep Icewalker because it can be a pain to get a full 17% hit rating.

I think that Tuskarr's is very valuable to a mage, and probably far more valuable to arcane because they have fewer movement options than fire does, but it's more of a personal preference due to blink than for other classes.

stats vs spirit is so small that it doesn't much matter.

I went with stats because 100 HP is 100 HP. Jarlyn went with spirit. Shrug. :)

Perhaps this belies my background as a healer for six years, but I tend to side slightly with survivability when the dps loss is so incredibly minimal.

1-2 dps difference means adding a whole 300-600 more damage over the course of 5 minutes. I'd rather have the very edge chance that some day I might live rather than die when it's such a negligible damage boost. (but it's also negligible survivability boost, so hey!)

Either way, again, it's just a personal decision.

Glass cannon or go home IMO.

I could go back and look at the math again, but I'm pretty sure 10 INT > 5 SPI for arcane and that the reverse is true for fire. So, STA concerns notwithstanding, which do you spend more time in currently? The difference really is not significant in either case.

However, after I got trained by 3 or 4 of the Faction Champions this week, I Ice Blocked at 62 health. YMMV may vary, but each time that happens I remember where I got that last hundred health from.

Haha.

All very true. Hit is not an issue (Alliance has some perks eh!) so will try +18 spirit on feet for this week.

Will probably stick with +10 stats on chest for now and see how things progress. Playing with Anub 25 HM atm - so will see which works out better, but as you said - it will prob make little difference in the long run.

Exactly.

It's ok, we're kicking Jarlyn out of the cool-kids class anyways and making him play with the dirty healers!

Just a random question while I'm here - for Alg 25 do you have 1 collapsing star killer. Had a trawl through your forum but was unable to find the info on it.

We usually use 2 hunters but with gear upgrades and the changes to arcane - I'm wondering whether I could solo them and leave the hunters to nuke Algalon

Brubaker just wrote a guide on this for the StratFu site. Good timing on this question
