i raid with a guild that tries to stay competitive in the top raiding guilds in the U.S. we just cleared toc25 reg last night and hard modes... well... they are hard for once XD i have a quick question because we are going in with 2 tanks and trying to use a cooldown rotation but they end up dying after tank swap. Do we need 3 tanks for the 1st encounter? The following is something posted in our forums that we might try tonight.

25-man Heroic Impale:
Inflicts 150% of weapon damage to an enemy and causes it to bleed for 3938 to 5062 damage per application every 2 sec. for 45 sec.

Snobold buffs: 15x5 = 75% buff.

So 3 stacks of Impale add up to 5062x3x1.75 = 26576 ticks every 2 sec. The 4th application would definitely kill you.

2 stacks add up to 17717 ticks, which will be painful if they line up with ~20k regular melees and potentially deadly on the 3rd Impale. If Disarm really works on Heroic, that would be very helpful. It doesn't make a lot of sense for the fight to demand 3 tanks in phase 1, 2 tanks in phase 2, and 1 tank in phase 3.

Assuming Impale stacks every 10s, here's a 2 tank rotation:
000 Tank 1 impale (1)
010 Tank 1 impale (2)
020 Tank 1 impale (3) -> Tank 2 taunts
030 Tank 2 impale (1), Tank 1 at 35s
040 Tank 2 impale (2), Tank 1 at 25s
050 Tank 2 impale (3), Tank 1 at 15s
060 Tank 2 impale (4), Tank 1 at 5s -> Tank 1 taunts, Tank 2 has died horribly.

3 tank strat!!!!

a 3 tank rotation:
000 Tank 1 impale (1)
010 Tank 1 impale (2) -> Tank 2 taunts
020 Tank 2 impale (1), Tank 1 at 35s
030 Tank 2 impale (2) -> Tank 3 taunts, Tank 1 at 25s
040 Tank 3 impale (1), Tank 1 at 15s, Tank 2 at 35s
050 Tank 3 impale (2) -> Tank 1 taunts at 5s, Tank 2 at 25s
060 Tank 1 impale (1), Tank 2 at 15s, Tank 3 at 35s

Taunt DR is 15 sec I believe, so 20 second taunting shouldn't cause problems as long as nobody screws it up.

We are barely getting the first boss down before the worms come out w/o using a blood lust was wondering if u guys have something figured out because we've wasted 10+ attempts with 2 tanks and we feel our dps is barely cutting it by the time he is down.

Also would it just be smarter to ONLY have all dps switch to kobolds on casters? and leave the rest on melee to be handled after worms are out? HALP PLZ!!! kinda embarrassing that we've wasted 10ish attempts already to no avail. =[

I am not raiding heroic ToC yet. However, it would seem the best way to tackle this would be to run a three-tank setup consisting of two pally tanks, and one prot warrior. I am unsure of a pally's abilities but I know they're able to bubble and cleanse themselves. I have heard of pallies bubbling and cleansing the impale stacks from themselves. Following a rotation like this:

Pally 1 - Impale 1
Pally 1 - Impale 2
Pally 2 - Impale 3
Pally 2 - Impale 4
Warrior - Impale 5
Warrior - Impale 6
...and so on.

If the warrior has Gormok when the worms come out, I would have a pally tank taunt Gor'mok off of him and have the warrior go and pick up Acidmaw when he comes out. The other pally tank will go pick up Dreadscale. When Gor'mok is down for the count, the pally that was tanking him can cleanse whatever impales he has on him and then go help tank Dreadscale. Whichever pally gets the burning bile debuff, the other pally will taunt Dreadscale off of him and that burning bile tank can begin running to cleanse the paralytic poison from whoever has it.

Also, I'm not sure whether or not Gor'mok can be disarmed in heroic 25. If he can, make sure whatever warriors you have in your group are doing so whenever possible. This will help slow down the Impale stacks...not by much though.

This is the method that we use in reg 25 ToC with great success.
