Hey Nid and Wreath. I just have a quick question to throw out at you. I hadn't seen it discussed in length on EJ, and was hoping I could get a little more solid feedback from the two of you concerning blue sockets.

Here is my problem. I pathed out potential gear paths heading to ToC based off your list on EJ. Thing is, with our comp there is a heavy amount of competition from most of the "non-set" items on the lists due to the number of casters we run (3lock-3mage).

Now, what has happened is being overran by blue sockets. They are just everywhere. What are you guys planning on doing to even out the blue sockets?

Seer's eye of zul has been my rule of thumb leading up to now, but with as many as there are in my gear, it seems a bit bloated. The next question would be is it worth it to ignore socket bonuses in some cases on pieces that net you the extra 7spellpower? It seems like a loss to overall Ilvl if that is the case. (Socket in the gloves can be ignored obviously-crit)

:/ Appreciate the help, just a little overwhelmed with blue sockets atm.

(Be advised that is my current gear set minus the two Brillian Dragon's Eye's in the Helm and Neck. Just re-switched this morning before work, and need to regem when I get home.)

Safe bets are spirit/spl if you feel you have enough regen. Seer's or as nids pointed out nightmare tears if you feel like you don't. I wouldn't ignore socket bonuses unless they were ones like the conq gloves 4 crit. You have a lot more int than spirit so I really wouldn't bug out about having too many blue sockets.

There's no definite figures for 'enough regen' its based on your raid comp, their and your skill, the fights you're doing, etc. Be honest with reasons for deaths and try to find out if youre heals were too slow/ too weak or you were worried about going oom and being conservative, or if you just messed up, or it was a global raid failure (other healers, avoidable dmg) to help you make better gear choices. We're real good at hps on demand so you don't have to waste your mana when other healers are better suited to take care of dmg.
