you probably get this all the time but i have to ask myself. As MM spec i am always in the top 5 on dps chart, but i wana try something new. So I tried BM...
and i failed... lol FAILED really hard. i was just above above someone that died half way thru the fight. i think we were doing gruuls at them time. so i ended up respec back to MM. so my question for ya. Is there a certain stat/crit/hit/ap requirement that i need? or a certain pet?

if you wana check my gear on the armory. i am the only hunter named Qaislyla.
my spec is a lil wierd right now to cuz im tryin to pve and pvp with out having to respec. if u can help me out i would appreciate it.

thanks for taking a sec to read this.

I'd like to forward you a thread I started months ago on EJ that has more information than an NSA super-computer about BM raiding:
http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t11420-h...heorycrafting/

The other is a post I made about Marksman raiding in upper tier 25-mans: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...sid=1&pageNo=1

The above thread has a link to the 25 man raiding BM vs MM vs SURVIVAL breakdown thread with WWS logs and comparisons of each build: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...sid=1&pageNo=1

The basic breakdown in your situation from your own armory (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Daggerspine&n=Qaislyla) is as follows:
(note: I'm assuming you're using PVP gear to PVE, which is fine)

1) Your enchant on your chest should be 6 stats
2) The enchant on your gloves should be 15 agility
3) The enchant on your 2h should be 35 agility
4) The enchant on your boots should have 12 agility
5) The enchant on your cloak is missing entirely.
6) Your leg enchant is geared towards PVP.
7) Your spec is out of whack.
8) Your gems are not the best quality.

Now if you actually have PVE gear, disregard the above points except for #1,2,3,5... well you get the point. The other big problem is your hit rating. If you went from MM / Surv with 3/3 surefooted to compensate for loss of hit and then went to Beast mastery with 70 hit rating you're going to notice quite a few misses. However your current build doesn't have 3/3 Surefooted at all.

Option 1:
With your gear and setup I would do one of two things: either max your hit to 136 and go full BM with this spec as well as change your sockets using all rare quality gems, no cheap shit:
(bestial disc because your crit is a little low, otherwise you don't need it) http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=ctbM0gxRwuVoVxbRV

Option 2:
If you cannot max your hit and the best you can do is 75-90 for raiding then you need to pick up a hybrid spec and stick with it and change your gems using all rare quality gems, and again, no cheap shit. The hybrid build will fill in gaps that your gear isn't providing you until you get the upgrades you need to do a full BM, full MM, or full Survival build. Its a 0/36/25 spec and can be seen here: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=mZVqbRVzhekoIhb0tcMh (you can of course change the upper tier talents in survival to your own preference but I'd keep humanoid slaying and hawk eye.

Beast Mastery:

If you want to be #1 DPS in Kara/SSC/TK/Gruul or wherever you are in progression, go BM and stick with it (IF YOU HAVE the hit rating and acceptable AP / crit 1700 unbuffed RAP and at least 25% unbuffed crit with max 136 or close +hit). Its not really gear-dependant but puts out excellent sustained damage. You should not only focus on Steady shot and Autoshot. Multishot is always going to do more damage than Steady and should be used in your rotations whenever possible, some people say otherwise maybe because they are lazy and use macros only? Arcane shot should be used situationally as well because it is the only shot we get that is purely non-physical damage. I use this with discretion depending on what mob I'm hitting.

BM talent allocation is very important for max dps for raiding. If you're off in a few key talents you'll fuck up your DPS big time. If you clip your shots you'll fuck your DPS, if you don't ever use Kill Command you'll fuck your DPS. Whatever spec you are, make sure you're always either flasked or using pots, always. If you go Bm follow the build I posted above.

1 big mistake Hunters make is not getting 5/5 Improved Hunters mark as BM spec. Even if another hunter has 5/5 imp mark, just get it anyways. Its not like you're grouped with the guy 24/7. You just have to have this because it makes a huge difference for your pet's DPS. The other is not getting 2/2 Animal handler. 4% to hit for your pet is vital for raids because there is no other way your pet can get to-hit besides this talent. Don't get spirit bond, its a waste, and make sure you get GFTT with 5/5 mortal shots.

If you're set on using a macro for KC/SS/AS you can try this and / or a variation of it:

just use this IF you have issues clipping shots on SS / AS rotations as BM.

#showtooltip Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/castsequence reset=3 Steady Shot, Auto Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear(); UIErrorsFrame:Show()

OR.......

Use this if you want to tie in the KC to Arcane shot and remove the line "/cast [exists,target=pettarget] Kill Command" from the above macro if you insert it into that, (which may not be preferable if you actually run into mana issues and do not want to blow 75 mana on a KC from your primary macro), and goes before Arcane to not fire one if not desired and will not screw up the SS/Auto rotation.

#showtooltip Arcane Shot(Rank 9)
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/cast [exists,target=pettarget] Kill Command
/cast Arcane Shot(Rank 9)
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear(); UIErrorsFrame:Show()

Anyways, read the marksman thread if you want more info about what others think on that. All 3 posts have thousands of replies from several really good Hunters out there and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

Cheers.

p.s. - make sure you're merging pet damage with your own in SW Stats.

Go to settings, hit the pet tab, and click merge made. This is your true damage output. If you're not doing that as BM spec, its no wonder you are showing yourself as being so low on damage meters.
