Hey guys, this is Lucretius from Meridian.

I've noticed that a couple of you have played around with maces here and there and a couple of you have tried the HaT builds. Have any of you tried both together?

I'm wondering if its viable to try a HaT/combat Maces combo spec. Maybe something like this (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fhZ0gqb00EZxMcbGhkdVuqc) (this probably isn't perfect). The point being to spec with improved eviscarate, mace specialization and honor amongst thieves.

What do you guys think? I haven't heard much about this idea one way or another (probably because maces don't get much love these days).

We all usually raid with HaT right now till the bug. Djjazzyjeff is maces since those are the weapons he has gotten when he has been raiding. Punk and I now have the KT fist and a dagger and will probably switch back to combat when they fix the HaT bug. The HaT build you linked with HaT seems ok, however, going into mace spec does seem like 5 extra points that could be used elsewhere and almost not worth grabbing it. You would probably be better off ignoring the 5 points in mace spec and grabbing malice since ignore armor really isn't that great compared to cirt.

The other thing with the HaT builds I must emphasize is you have a second or third rogue specing HaT and in your group as well. If you are the lone person with HaT it is not raid worthy at all, you'd be better off going combat or mutilate(if you have some daggers). Hope this information helps.

Yes thats very helpful, thanks!

We have another descent rogue in the guild who's going to spec HaT as well. My thought on the mace build was that the extra 15% armor reduction would make a difference since Eviscerate is physical damage (unlike a mut build that has a much higher percentage of damage that is not affected by armor).

That said, you're right, I'm not sure if that is better than what the 5 points could be used for elsewhere. I may try it out tonight in Naxx and see what happens.
