Now that Blizzard has released the beta talent trees, I thought I'd generate some debate about possible level 80 specs. I know that things will likely change, they have already nerfed the shit out of Honor Among Thieves since the leaked alpha talent trees came out. This thread can be used by anybody who wants to contribute solid speculation about rogues in the expansion.
Here are a few initial spec ideas:
PvE Subtlety/Combat Build:

PvE Subtlety/Assassination Build:

PvE Combat/Assassination Build:

PvE Assassination/Combat Build (Mutilate):
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents2.html?tal=00532010533210250210150013510233 05002005000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00
As for myself, I'm really looking towards testing a PvE Subtlety build. Although Honor Among Thieves was changed from 100% chance to gain a combo point from anybody in group/raid that crits to a 30% chance only for group members, it's still pretty badass. I'm thinking that if we brought a third rogue to the raid we usually put them in the sub par melee/tank group. This group usually has Bazz, a druid, a shaman, and two other physical dps. With the insane amount of crit druids are supposed to have in the expansion, perhaps a hemo rogue might find a niche here.
However, the Assassination tree has been greatly improved; setting up Mutilate as a viable competitor against traditional Combat specs. I really don't like the upper tier combat talents and my initial combat specs include 30 points in the Assassination tree for seal fate and fleet footed. I chose fist specialization for the extra crit, but it could be easily replaced with swords.
I'm glad that Blizzard has given us viable alternatives to traditional combat specs. I believe that the maximum damage a player can obtain will be greatly determined by what weapon one uses, probably even more so than the past. This will be nice because we will be able to spread out loot more instead of having every rogue drooling over swords. It will be interesting to compare each spec once the expansion goes live.
